Education Programs at Three Stone Hearth

Three Stone Hearth was the nation's first Community Supported Kitchen. We are informed by the values of Earth, Health and Heart, represented by the three stones of the ancient hearth form found around the world.

 

We seek to share knowledge and build community around our values of healing, traditional wisdom, cooperative, purposeful work and the integrity of a local food system. We offer classes and workshops, host speakers, and offer a variety of behind-the-scenes opportunities to get to know us, our foods and our business more deeply, from quick tours to week-long intensives.

TRADITIONAL DIETS DAY-LONG INTENSIVE (POSTPONED)

SATURDAY, JULY 29th, 9:15AM-3PM

Three Stone Hearth co-founder Jessica Prentice offers an in-depth investigation into the nutritional philosophy that underlies all of our work: The Nutritional Wisdom of Traditional Diets. Class includes a nutrient-dense lunch with our staff. Cost is $60. Click here for details.

 

THINKING BEYOND THE BOWL: VIBRANT HEALTH FOR DOGS AND CATS 

SATURDAY, AUGUST 12th, 10-11:30AM

In this class, Joni Kamlet will be making a case for reevaluating your pet's diet, and offering strategies for better health. She’ll talk about the disappointing truth about pet foods, identifying nutritional deficiencies in pets and adding nutrient-dense foods from Three Stone Hearth, such as bone broth and liver. WEEK LONG KITCHEN AND BUSINESS INTENSIVE

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 4th TO TUESDAY, OCTOBER 10th, 2017

This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a learning experience of the work and culture of our Community Supported Kitchen. This program is designed to support emerging food entrepreneurs exploring the CSK business model. Fifty hours of hands-on learning, classes and nutrient-dense lunches are included. HOLISTIC DENTAL HEALTH

SATURDAY, AUGUST 19th, 10AM-12PM

Join us for a two-hour talk on natural dental care with Rupam Henry, creator of the Dental Soap and Tooth Elixir we sell, among other herbal products. Discover how natural dental care can take you to a whole new level of feeling good in your body, mind, and spirit, and help you make better decisions about your dental choices.

 

TRADITIONAL SOAP MAKING WITH SUMMER SEQUOIA TALLOW

SATURDAY, AUGUST 26th, 10-11:30AM 

Step back in time and learn how to make traditional and nourishing soaps from local, grassfed beef tallow, extra virgin olive oil, and organic essential oils. Indulge in the "slow body care" movement. Each student will take home three different soaps that they custom decorate with herbs or flowers.

 

 

FIVE-WEEK FOOD-BASED CLEANSE

SATURDAYS, SEPTEMBER 16th, 23rd, 30th, OCTOBER 7th & 14th, 10-11:30AM

This series has become so popular, we’re offering it several times a year! Join us for a five-week food-based cleanse, with nutritionist and GAPS Diet Practitioner Joey Anderson. Joey will teach and guide participants in a food-based cleanse that gets sugars and simple starches out of your system, and, just as importantly, nutrient-dense foods in. Each group includes a check-in, a lesson and support. Cost is $125.
